Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 September 2026

TrekQuill (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website https://trekquill.com. TrekQuill is owned and operated by Pixel Pulse, based in Pune, India. This policy explains what we collect when you visit the site, why, and what you can do about it. Privacy questions go to info@trekquill.com.

The short version

TrekQuill is a reader-supported travel publication. We earn commission when you book through our partner links, which means the main thing tracked on this site is whether a booking came from us. We do not ask you to create an account, we do not take payments, and we do not sell your personal information.

What this site does not do

Stated plainly, because privacy policies often claim otherwise:

  • No user accounts. There is nothing to register for and no login.
  • No comments. Comments are closed across the entire site, so we collect no commenter names, emails or IP addresses.
  • No payments. Every booking happens on the partner’s own website. We never see or handle your card details.
  • No Google Analytics. As of the date above, no analytics suite is installed on this site.
  • No advertising sold by us. We run no ad units and have no AdSense account.
  • No selling or renting of personal information to anyone, for any purpose.

What we and our partners do collect

Server logs

Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard request logs: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system, and the referring page. These are used for security and troubleshooting, not for profiling individuals.

Cookies and consent

We use Complianz to manage cookie consent. It stores your choice in your browser so we do not ask again on every page. Cookies that are not strictly necessary — including the affiliate and advertising cookies described below — are set according to the preference you give in that banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the banner.

Affiliate tracking (Travelpayouts)

This is the significant one. TrekQuill is part of the Travelpayouts affiliate network. Its script runs on our pages and, when you click through to a partner such as Aviasales, Klook, GetYourGuide or Trip.com, it attaches an identifier so the partner knows the visit came from us and can credit any resulting booking. This normally involves cookies and similar identifiers that persist for a period set by each partner.

The Travelpayouts script also rewrites some outbound links as the page loads, and it loads resources from Google’s advertising infrastructure (googlesyndication.com and doubleclick.net). We do not run ads and receive no advertising revenue, but those requests can still set third-party cookies in your browser. We are raising this with Travelpayouts and will update this page if it changes.

Link click tracking (Pretty Links)

Our partner links are published in the form trekquill.com/<brand>/web and pass through Pretty Links, which records that a click happened before redirecting you. It logs details such as IP address, browser and referring page. We use this only to see which recommendations readers find useful — it is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not shared with anyone.

Caching and delivery (NitroPack)

We use NitroPack to cache pages and serve images and files quickly. It processes technical request data — such as IP address and device type — in order to deliver the right version of a page. It is not used for tracking or marketing.

Email you send us

Our contact page invites you to email info@trekquill.com directly. If you write to us, we keep your message and address for as long as needed to deal with it and to maintain a record of correspondence.

Newsletter

We use MailerLite for email. If you subscribe, MailerLite stores the address you give us and records whether our emails are opened, so we can tell what is worth sending. You can unsubscribe from any email and we will delete the address on request. We will never add you to a list because you visited the site — subscribing is always something you do deliberately.

When you leave our site

Clicking a partner link takes you to a company we do not control — a booking site, an eSIM provider, an insurer, a tour platform. From that point their privacy policy applies, not ours, and anything you enter there goes to them. If you are about to enter personal or payment details, it is worth reading the policy of the site you are actually on.

How we make money, and how that affects what we recommend, is set out on our affiliate disclosure page, and how we reach our verdicts on how we test.

How long we keep things

Server logs and click records are kept for a limited operational period and then discarded or aggregated. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Email correspondence is kept while it is relevant. Cookie lifetimes are set by the service that placed them; your browser settings let you delete them at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the EU and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act — you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent you have given.

To exercise any of these, email info@trekquill.com. Because we hold very little that identifies you personally, most requests are quick to deal with. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request about specific data.

International transfers

We are based in India and the services above operate internationally, so data may be processed in countries other than your own, including within the EU and the United States.

Children

TrekQuill is written for adults planning travel and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

This page describes our practices as of the date at the top. If we add a service that collects something new — an analytics tool, a comment system, a booking form — we will name it here before or when it goes live, and update the date.
